My Diary

  Dear Diary,
Today I will learn to be a warrior. I'm really scared to become a warrior with he worries of thinking about dying in battle.I know that it is for the protection of my tribe.

                                                            Dear Diary,
Yesterday I learned to be a warrior. It was very hard,I had to learn how to kill deers and fish. I thought it was very interesting but also very disgusting to see an animal get slaughter. I had fun yesterday and now I am a man!

The stroy of Aquene

Hi,my name is Aaquene,it means peace. I am the youngest in my family and I have a older sister and her name is Olathe which means beautiful. Also my mother's name is Gaho which means mother. My father's name is He-lush-ka, which means fighter. He is also the chief if are tribe and he is supposed to keep are village peaceful and serene.
I live in the village of the Makah tribe. It is a very peaceful place.I learned that the word Makah means "generous ones",and people in my village are very genourous people.I love to play outside with my best friend Anevay and her name means superior. We love playing in the corn fields with are other friend Dichali which means talks a lot,and he actually does.We spend hours playing and when it was time to go in for supper there would be a big meal waiting for me.
For supper I had shellfish, fish, deer, sea lions, and berries for dessert. After dinner I fell a sleep in my bed in my comfy buffalo blankets.
The next morning I woke u I didn't see anybody in the cedar-plank house. When I looked outside all I saw was my dad consulting with the members of the clan.I figured that something was going wrong, but finally when my dad noticed me and the expression on his and he looked very worried. I was scared to see what he was going to say. When he got to me he said "The soldiers are coming."
In the last few days we were preparing to leave from are grounds. My father told us to take everything we absolutely needed because it was going to be a long journey. As we were walking we were stopped by a man with a lot of other soldiers behind him. My father said "Please let us pass," but the soldier said we may not pass.
After that there was a war. All the women and children ran to the forest close by. As we were running we heard the distance noises of the battle. We were all really scared we ran as fast  as we could, and we all got there safely.
All of lived in the forest for  six months. We lived off the wilderness and the forest also the lake near by.We made are houses out of sticks. It was horrible living like that for six months.
We back to the camp grounds and as we were walking we saw all the dead bodies from the battle. It was really bad to see all the people that you know and love lying on the ground. I could hear distance crying seeing people looking at all the bodies. We walked on.
When we got back to are tribe we saw it in shambles, but we made do. We lied among each other in peace like we used to. So we lived happily ever after.
